special abilties;; Kovu is so far without a human form, but as far as cubs go, he is quite athletic, as he is being trained to be a ruthless killer by Scar and Zira. He has the standard claws and teeth of any lion, but they aren't very strong or fully developed as he is very young.

apperance;; Kovu, though not Scar's blood-related son, does have a few similar features. He has very dark brown fur with an even darker tuft between his ears, at his elbows, and on the end of his tail. He has lighter-colored tan fur around his eyes, muzzle, paws, and long his chest and belly. Kovu has green eyes. He is a sturdily-built cub of average weight. So far he does not seem to have a human form.

personality;; Kovu has been groomed to appear heartless, cold, and aggressive by his parents, taught to show no weakness. He tries to act tough and independent, able to take care of himself, around other cubs. Deep down, though, Kovu isn't really as heartless or brave as his parents would like him to be. He can be easily intimidated by his mother, in particular, and always wants to impress Scar, though he's also very intimidated by the dark lion. Kovu also doesn't like other lions to get in trouble because of him, and dislikes being made fun of or put down. 

He enjoys wrestling and play-fighting--they're the only was to play he has been taught, and he's rather good at them. Kovu wants to have fun, deep down, but he doesn't even really know what fun is. The closest he's ever come is to playing with Vitani. He doesn't even really want the special treatment he gets from his parents, and sometimes dreams of running away; but he hasn't quite mustered up the courage to do it yet.

history;; When Scar finally managed to murder the true Lion King, his brother Mufasa, and banish Prince Simba, he became the ruler of the Pridelands. Though hyenas plagued the lands, let in by Scar, and most lionesses hated their new king, a handful of them adored him. One such Lioness was Zira, who was madly in love with Scar and totally devoted to him. She became his mate. She bore him a child, naming him Nuka, but the scrawny, whiny cub was deemed too weak to be a suitable heir for Scar. Depressed by not being able to please her husband, Zira left the Pridelands for a brief time and returned pregnant. She bore twins: first a female cub named Vitani, and second a sturdy male; Kovu. Kovu was adopted by Scar as his heir. The little cub never knew about his adoptive father's nephew, Simba, or that the true Lion King was on his way home to confront Scar. Shortly after he was able to walk, Kovu and his family were suddenly transported to the Villain's world, where Scar was made, not the king, but a member of six others who formed a council. Zira and Scar seemed outraged by this, and they intensified their children's training--particularly Kovu's--as if someday they hoped to use Kovu to kill off the other villains...Kovu has spent most of his time training, or, when Zira is out hunting and Scar is busy, being babysat by his resentful older brother, Nuka. This normally leads to Kovu running off on his own, giving Nuka the slip, and exploring by himself. He doesn't really want to be king when he grows up, but Zira is slowly whipping that out of him.

Kovu snarled, showing his small spiky teeth. He pounced forward, wrapping his forepaws around Vitani's neck behind her head and twisting, trying to throw her off her paws with his own weight. At the same time, he snapped at and pulled on one of his sister's ears. His mother had taught him all of the techniques he was using now--Scar wasn't much for fighting practice. Something about intellect being far better than brute strength. Apparently Kovu was supposed to have both, though. Just last night he'd spent a very long while listening to Scar talk about not giving mercy, biding one's time, stuff like that. He would have yawned if he hadn't been trembling. Scar scared him--he'd seen, ever since he was born, what the darker lion was willing to do, and even though Kovu didn't exactly know that any of it was wrong, he still never felt quite safe with his adopted father.

Kovu managed to pin Vitani down, which was something that was hard to do. Vitani had always been a good fighter--it seemed natural to her. She was way better than smelly ol' Nuka, anyway.
